At this year's Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant, the 27th edition, organised by the Silverbird Group, Timi Dakolo miraculously let the cat out of the bag by inadvertently announcing the winner before the presenters did. Timi was the last singer on the night to sing to the last five contestants standing: Miss Abuja (4th runner-up); Miss Osun (3rd runner- up); Miss Kwara (2nd runner-up), Miss Edo (1st runner up) and Miss Akwa Ibom State, Iheoma Nnadi.
When he mounted the stage the first contestant he took out to sing to was Miss Akwa Ibom, followed by Miss Edo State and Miss Osun State. Without knowing it, the singer announced the top three winners.
Even the Bayelsa State representative on the judges’ panel didn’t help matters when he came on stage to deliver the judges’ verdict to the presenters as he blurted out that Timi Dakolo must have been a prophet.
“ We have come up with our winners. I must say Timi Dakolo was a prophet as he has spoken for us” he said.
Right there and then people knew who the winners were just as Timi danced with them, beginning with the Miss Akwa Ibom, Iheoma Nnadi.
