He leaves the scene when the game needs him most...

Where is Sinzu? From his tweets he is somewhere in Obamaland. I am more intrigued on why he has been missing from the game for a while now. Why has a rapper who churned out a hit as big as “Carolina” disappeared from the rap scene? These days he feeds his starved fans with tweet morsels which fail to indicate when he will drop new materials.
Sinzu’s disappearing act is nothing new. He leaves the scene when the game needs him most. After dropping his successful ‘Money Long-The Mixtape’ which churned out the hits ‘Omoge’ and “Sanboribobo” Sauce Kid fizzled into irrelevancy. In a 3 year gap he was hardly heard from music-wise. It is important to point out that during his absence rap music shifted from the Rugged Man/Mode 9 era to the M.I/Naeto C era. These are valuable years that Sauce Kid failed to capitalize on.
Fortunately Sauce Kid bounced back to reckoning in 2010 with the Don Jazzy produced “Under G”. It was a smash hit that brought Sinzu back into relevancy. Later that year he dropped his anticipated debut album ‘African American’ which pushed out the infectious and hilarious “E Don Dey Madt” single. A breakdown between Sauce Kid and Storm Records affected the marketing of the promising album. It was no surprise to see Sauce Kid leave the label after.
The following year, Sauce upped his hustle, formed the Sinzu Music Group and christened himself after his funny alter-ego Sinzu. Working with Davido he brought out the hit single “Carolina” which was produced by Maleek Berry-who is now signed to Wizkid’s imprint, Star Boy. Riding high off the success of “Carolina”, he hooked up with Timaya on “L.O.K.O”. Unfortunately that was a dud and Sinzu ran back to his shell. The rapper hasn’t released any major track since then. At a certain time he was dropping random freestyles on the internet but that didn’t last long.
Sinzu’s disappearing acts over the years is infuriating and puzzling. He is more than a talented rapper; he is highly unique, flowing in Yoruba and American English with equal ease and skill. Whatever language he spits in he is accepted by all. How he hasn’t capitalized on this unique talent of his is disappointing. Sinzu is selfish for denying rap lovers in this country the opportunity to enjoy his amazing talent. The game is unforgiving to people who toy with what they have. He has what it takes to grab the rap game by the throat but his hide and seek routine might soon make him a memory. He needs to snap out of his adolescent behaviour and man up. The game isn’t rosy for anyone.
Sinzu wherever you are, I hope you are reading this. The game needs you but most importantly you need the game. It’s time to come back. We miss you.

Reasons Why BlackFace Is The Poorest Among Us - Faze (Plantashun Boiz)

In an interview with showtime, Faze opened up about Tuface and Blackface, Reasons Why Black Face Is Still Financially Down:

Enjoy!

How do you feel today that 2face is a superstar as well as yourself, but Black Face is yet to hit the mark?

Black Face is also going to be big. Everybody seems to be supporting him financially, and it takes a lot for people to believe in you. Black Face wrote almost all the songs we had in our first album, so, he has potentials. He has management challenges and people that believe in him. We must be frank, we have some junk music in the industry but they sell because they have financial backups to pay for publicity and other things. These days, if you are bringing out an album, it has to be well packaged, it has to generate noise. I’m working on something with him to make sure he bounces back.

Since you know his problem, why didn’t you…?
He’s going to be big. Everybody has his time

But don’t you think it’s getting too late?
Nothing is too late. He just needs a single and I’m working with him on his album because he was involved in my career. I remember when I wanted to go for a singing competition. I was young and scared of the unexpected because there were so many ladies there that could sing well. I didn’t want to involve myself because I noticed judges were usually partial when it comes to ladies.

It was a live performance but Black Face encouraged me to go ahead. He accompanied me to the competition and I won at the end of the day. So, it’s the same spirit that I’m trying to give back to him. Whenever, we sit and write songs together, he writes in a different dimension. I think the only thing he needs to do is take his time and not to be in a hurry.

It appears you are more passionate about Black Face than 2face?
No, it’s not like that. 2Face is already big and Black Face will still grow. Most of the times when he’s down, I sit with him because I know his kind of person. He has talent and he has his fans. What is left is for him to give his fans the right music to listen to and enjoy.
So why didn’t you speak with 2face to lend him a support?
What he needs isn’t financial support. We are working together to bring out the right songs.

What’s 2face doing about it?
I’m sure both of them meet to discuss on their own, you know they are from the same area. I can only speak for myself that whatever I do for Black Face, I’m not helping myself, he’s helping me. I’m still going to do one or two songs with 2face in future. But I’m doing everything to make sure things work out well for Black Face. We are all looking for money to take care of our responsibilities. The highest we can do is work together and make more money. Black Face has been helpful to me even financially so, it’s on both sides.

Why were you and Black Face absent at Tuface’s Dubai wedding?
I was in Dubai but got to the venue very late. I had other functions I was attending to. People saw me because we were together at the club. Black Face has his own reason he didn’t make it.

But you are his friend and you should know better
 He must have his reasons.

Maybe, he didn’t have money for the ticket…?
It’s not about the money because tickets don’t cost that much. He must have his own reasons. Tuface had his reasons he didn’t invite him too. After all, when Black Face did his wedding, none of us was there.

Davido talks about HKN split...

Reports had circulated a while back about HKN Chieftain Davido getting into a physical altercation with his cousins B-Red & Sina Rambo; and also that as a result of the incident, both cousins had decided on leaving the label.

Sina Rambo denied the reports in a separate interview with another media house and according to Davido  “B-Red & Sina Rambo have been with me for over two years and I felt like it’s time for them to start their own stuff.  I’m sure they were even tired of being in the shadow of me and all that.  B-Red, I think has a management deal elsewhere with another company, I’m not sure exactly, but they shot his video for him and everything. And Sina is in America working on some new material. I really want them to stand on their own because they’re talented and need to be heard, instead of them being behind me all the time. We still family”.

Davido has been steady recruiting new soldiers to replace the ‘lost’ ones. He signed Ghanaian rapper Deekay in March, and more recently added singer Orezi to his roster.

EVA ALORDIAH’s LABEL AND MANAGEMENT WOES...

This week word got out that female rapper Eva Alordiah and her manager Ugo are no longer together. The split wasn’t smooth as Ugo who owns the management company 3UD attacked Eva on Twitter. 3UD had been managing Eva before, during, and after her exit from Trybe Records.
Eva is no stranger to switching managers and record labels easily. Ugo was her third known manager. She was formerly managed by Boo Boo of Game Plan who was once an On-Air-Personality. Before Boo Boo came into the picture she was managed by M.I’s former manager Obinna Agwu.
She has also been on two record labels within her short career. She was signed by video director MEX to his record label PXC but left shortly after. After a while she was scooped up by eLDee to be a part of his Trybe Records imprint. After a few months both parties went their separate ways.
Many wonder why Eva’s professional life is unstable. Some point to her ego which they say is bigger than the amount of work she has put in her career. Sources close to the rapper say that she has been kicked out of the Knight House studio once for being rude and a top exec at Chocolate City has told her that she is very rude and lacks manners.
Eva hasn’t come out publicly to speak on her managerial situation. She did make headlines this week with her new boyfriend, Charles Oputa Jr, the son of Charly Boy.

IYANYA REMINISCENCES ON PARENTS, BROTHER’S DEATH

It’s a good thing to be happy and be wealthy but another thing totally to see those who you love to share in your happiness. For the handsome and well-built singer and dancer, Iyanya, life would have been so beautiful if his parents and brother were to be alive to share in his joy today.

Iyanya who has become an enigma in Nigeria’s entertainment scene today said he lost his parents mysteriously. Though, he reluctantly revealed to this office that it was a spiritual attack that claimed the lives of the people he loved most in his life.

I am thankful, because I know they are somewhere better and they left a whole lots of things for me. My late mum made me realize that there is nothing really in this world than just being a good person. I have been trying to live with that, even though I can’t please everybody.

My Dad also taught me to be responsible for every action I take as an adult. I am just living with what they left for me. I mean, their prayers and words still linger.

``My parents are late now. May their souls rest in peace, I grew up with them and I got 100 percent love from them. They died in 2008, before my Project Fame exploit. It’s a long story to go into how they died; I don’t want to talk about it. My mum died at the age of 42 and my dad died at 50.

I know their death came too early and it happened in ways I don’t like to talk about. It’s not a thing that makes me happy. But it’s a lesson for me now. I am trying to live a good life.

My parents are not the only people I have lost; I have also lost my elder brother, who died recently as well. He had an accident as a kid and since then we had been battling with it, but he died recently. He died the same period my parents did. It’s so painful but I have to move on,’’ he said.

"I will never be faithful to a woman. Never ever!" - Femi Kuti says

"Femi Kuti tells Yes! International magazine:

"I will never get married again. I don't think I will ever be able to trust anybody. I will never be able to give any woman that chance. First, I will never be faithful. Never ever! I will not even try to be faithful. I won't! Because first of all, I don't even believe a woman would be faithful to me. And why does she want to be faithful to me? First, I think it's very unnatural and I can not even imagine standing somewhere and one man will say 'I pronounce you man and wife. Who are you to pronounce me man and wife? Okay, I pronounce myself man and wife. There's a girl who lives with me now. She's not as jealous as most of my other girlfriends.. She knows I like women, so we understand each other. She doesn't question me, I don't question her. She takes cares of our child, no wahala. But the minute she starts being over-jealous, we are going to start to fight. She's the kind of person that I will say, that girl is fine o, and she will say, should I chase her for you? And I will say don't worry, I can do it myself.
He said a lot more. Continue...

It's about freedom expression, freedom of the mind, freedom of being able to live and if that institution can not give me that, why should I go into an institution that is about restriction? It doesn't mean that I'm somebody that wants to sleep around, I just don't like 'don't, don't, don't! I don't need an institution to tell me that.

I don't want anybody to question me. Who are you to question my life? Have you heard any of my song questioning anybody? And every time I've tried to love, they have broken my heart. From day one - either because I'm Fela's son. I hear the parents say 'oh, you want to marry Fela's son? God forbid. Even Funk that I married, when her mother found out I was Fela's son, she scream no o! God forbid. Funke had to runaway to get pregnant o! And we ran away to get married. So, by the time she and her mother made up, of course, the marriage collapsed.

So you see, I try to be straight forward. Why should I lie? I'm popular and I now want to be sneaking from house to house or lie to my girlfriend? There's no way they won't catch me so it's better you're truthful. So I don't start a relationship with 'you are my one and only, bla bla bla. No! I like you very much but the possibility of liking someone else is there. I tell them. Even my wife Funke, I made this very clear to her. I don't start my relationship based on you are the only one, I want to marry you, you're the apple of my eyes. I start by being very truthful.
